{"id":49875,"date":"2023-09-05T10:21:35","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T14:21:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.balletx.org\/about-us\/staff\/tara-keating-copy\/"},"modified":"2024-02-13T07:13:55","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T12:13:55","slug":"keelan-whitmore","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.balletx.org\/about-us\/staff\/keelan-whitmore\/","title":{"rendered":"Keelan Whitmore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keelan Whitmore, a native of Rockford, Illinois, trained at Rockford Dance Company, Joffrey Ballet School\/New School University, Interlochen Arts Academy, and St. Mary&#8217;s College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and was awarded the Dean&#8217;s Professional Student Award. From 2001-2006 he danced with Kansas City Ballet, and in 2006 he became a member of the Suzanne Farrell Ballet. As a choreographer and educator, Whitmore has worked with numerous national and international arts organizations. In 2006, Whitmore co-founded the Kansas City-based multidisciplinary ensemble, Quixotic Fusion. He danced with Alonzo King LINES Ballet from 2006 to 2013, and as a soloist with TanzTheater M\u00fcnster from 2014 to 2021, where he was awarded the 2019 Outstanding Artist Award by the Gesellschaft der Musik- und Theaterfreunde. In the 2022-2023 season, Whitmore returned to Theater M\u00fcnster as a guest dancer and as Coordinator of Community Outreach and Diversity.
