His music, featured on labels like Tzadik and Virgin UK, has received international acclaim and airplay on NPR, WNYC, and BBC Radio 3. He has performed at Lincoln Center, MoMA, Miller Theatre, La MaMa, Harlem Stage and the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and has composed work for TAKE Dance, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, BalletX, and the documentary <em>The Journey of Monalisa<\/em>. Kato was the music producer of the Bessie award-winning <em>THEM<\/em> by Ishmael Houston-Jones, Dennis Cooper, and Chris Cochrane; the ambient album <em>THE WALK<\/em> with Kramer; the album <em>I HATE MEMORY<\/em> by singer-songwriter Ezster Balint; and the album <em>BABA BIBI<\/em> with the Tony award-winning playwright\/songwriter Stew.
