We’re thrilled to highlight longtime supporters Tim Moir and Rob Taglieri, whose journey with BalletX spans two decades from early supporters to board advocates whose commitment continues to inspire us. Their passion, belief, and generosity helped shape BalletX from a fledgling idea into the thriving, nationally recognized company it is today.

What originally drew you to BalletX as audience members and supporters?

In 2002, we met Christine Cox and Mathew Neenan through an acquaintance, Jane Moses. Around the same time, we experienced their innovative choreography and performances at Manna’s Shut Up & Dance. We loved the energy and the athleticism of their dancing. While still building on the tenets of classical ballet, it seemed more spirited and accessible. When Christine and Matthew formed a dance company called Phrenic New Ballet with some of their colleagues, we sensed it would be the kind of dancing that appealed to us. We attended their first fundraiser in April 2002. In 2005, Christine and Matthew left Phrenic to found BalletX, and twenty-three years later, the energy and creativity that first captured our attention continue through amazing commissioned works. And we’re still very proud to support them.

What has it been like to support the company from its earliest days through today?

It’s been beautiful watching BalletX grow and get national recognition. It’s especially gratifying because BalletX is an unabashed Philadelphia-based organization. We’re proud of that, and so is Christine! With each passing year, they become more and more important to the artistic fabric of our city. And because we were there from the beginning, we feel a special insider connection to the company and to Christine. I think we understand her artistic vision. Over the years, we’ve introduced friends and family to BalletX; many of whom continue to support the company.

Tim, what inspired you to take on a new role and join the Board?

I had an early connection to BalletX and felt I could add value to the board from my experience running our own business. Rob and I started our business in the late 90s, and our business grew at the time that BalletX started. We live on the Avenue of the Arts, and after twelve years on the Avenue of the Arts board, I wanted to be involved and give back to the arts community in Philadelphia. BalletX was the perfect fit for me.

How has being on the Board deepened your connection to the company?

I have learned how the passion for creating the BalletX experience goes beyond just Christine. I have learned to appreciate how the BalletX board, staff, dancers, and donors are working in the same direction to create this great company.

What’s a memory that captures the spirit of BalletX for you?

In 2019, we traveled to Vail Colorado to see BalletX perform the “Little Prince” at the Vail Dance Festival. It was magical. It was a stunning evening with the mountain breezes moving through the outdoor setting. The performance was amazing. We were thrilled how many people spoke to us of how proud and lucky we must be to have such an amazing company in Philadelphia. And we are.

In your view, what sets BalletX apart from other arts organizations?

There are lots of great arts organizations in Philadelphia. Living on the Avenue of the Arts, we have had a chance to see and interact with many of them. The joy of creativity is most evident in BalletX. BalletX is growing and expanding in creativity and reach. While, unfortunately, some other Philadelphia arts organizations struggle to maintain momentum in a difficult environment for arts organizations across the country.

As the company approaches its 20th Anniversary, what are you most proud of—and most excited about?

We are most proud of way BalletX continues to grow and stretch it’s capabilities. From integrating film and live music to designing great sets and costumes, BalletX is not afraid to explore new ways of creativity. We are excited to continue the journey with BalletX as an audience member, a donor, and a board member. We are excited to see the BalletX performances get bigger, bolder, with greater reach across the world.

BalletX Donor Feature: Tim Moir and Rob Taglieri As BalletX approaches its 20th Anniversary season, we’re taking a moment to celebrate some of the incredible supporters who have been with…

[220,217

post-53665","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","category-interview
["1751307275:1184
1184
53666
default
default

default
default
100
217
60"],"_yoast_wpseo_estimated-reading-time-minutes":["4
283
a:0:{}
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.9 -
