We\u2019re thrilled to share that BalletX’s Artistic & Executive Director, Christine Cox, has been named Innovator of the Year at The Philadelphia Citizen\u2019s 2025 RAD Awards!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This incredible honor celebrates Christine\u2019s visionary leadership and the bold, boundary-pushing work she\u2019s done with BalletX over the past two decades.<\/p>\n

Though Christine couldn\u2019t be there in person\u2014BalletX is currently on tour at the Vail Dance Festival\u2014BalletX Board Member, Watsuki Harrington, accepted the award on her behalf. Thank you, Suki, and congratulations, Christine!<\/p>\n

“As Artistic and Executive Director and Co-Founder of BalletX, Christine Cox has been integral to making Philadelphia a prime location for contemporary ballet. Under her leadership, the company, currently celebrating its 20th year, has hosted 140 world premieres that push the boundaries of accessibility and excitement of classical dance.<\/p>\n

Along the way, Cox helped pioneer the company\u2019s Dance eXchange, in-school outreach for third and fourth graders across five District schools. She also ensures women choreographers lead at least 50 percent of every BalletX season. Her dancers receive annual salaries, 52 week contracts and paid vacation \u2014 a rarity in U.S. dance.”<\/p>\n
