We recently cheered on BalletX’s Dance eXchange<\/em> students in their program-culminating performances at the Prince Theater on Feb. 20 and 21, with CBS Philly<\/a> reporting live from the show, and recapping warmup rehearsals earlier that day.<\/p>\n

This year’s Dance eXchange<\/em> theme was the seasons<\/em>, which was an extension of BalletX’s Fall Series 2017<\/em> performances of Nicolo Fonte’s Beautiful Decay<\/em>; a full-evening ballet, featuring music from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to attending a live performance of Beautiful Decay<\/em> at The Wilma Theater, students participated in dances, music, and other theme-related exercises two times a week, October-February. One Dance eXchange<\/em> curricular exercise included writing poems, inspired by this year’s theme, the changing seasons. The poems were so imaginative and beautifully written, we thought we would share some on BalletX’s blog.<\/p>\n

Piper, Room 207<\/strong>
\nApril and May<\/u><\/em>
\nApril and May always fought. Thinking about first place.
\nApril showers bring May flowers.

Yuma, Room 205<\/strong>
\nWinter<\/u><\/em>
\nWinter, as quiet as a mouse
\nAnimals sleeping in their house
\nThrough the sky and through the sea
\nEverybody is calm
\nIncluding me.<\/p>\n

Juliet, Room 207<\/strong>
\nSunny Summer<\/u><\/em>
\nWaves wildly wash up on the sand
\nSun setting slowly by the sea
\nBaby butterflies begin to fly<\/p>\n

Harry, Room 202<\/strong>
\nLeaves On The Floor<\/u><\/em>
\nLeaves are always on the floor
\nAnd they\u2019re always at the door!
\nIn summer you eat ice cream
