Artist Resources Winter Intensive
Applicants must be prepared to submit a Video Audition, Dance Resume, Headshot, and Dance Shot. The Video Audition should be a maximum of 15 minutes in length, and should include barre work (tendus, degage with passe, ronde de jambe á terre and en l’air, adagio, and grand battements) center work (tendus/pirouettes from 5th, adagio, and small jumps), and a short clip of phrasework or performance footage, either on stage, in the studio, or at home.
To be eligible for the BalletX Summer Intensive, dancers must meet the following requirements:
The Winter Intensive is an in-depth company experience where you will learn BalletX repertory and have new work created on you.
Dancers will use pointe shoes during this Intensive. If you have an injury that requires shoe modification, please contact us for more information.
BalletX will notify you of your application's status by November 6, 2024. If accepted, you will need to submit an Acceptance Agreement and deposit by November 29, 2024 to hold your place in the program.
BalletX will notify you of your application's status by December 6, 2024. If accepted, you will need to submit an Acceptance Agreement and deposit by December 13, 2024 to hold your place in the program.

BalletX offers a limited number of financial aid scholarships. If you are interested in applying, you will be able to submit financial aid support materials with your online program application. We strongly encourage financial aid applicants to apply before the Early Decision deadline (Oct. 25), as scholarships are distributed on a rolling basis.

Christine Cox co-founded BalletX, America’s premier contemporary ballet company, with Matthew Neenan in 2005. The BalletX team has produced over 100 world premiere ballets by nearly 60 renowned and emerging choreographers to date, reaching more than 150,000 dance patrons.
Learn MoreTara Keating began her training at the age of seven at Pioneer Valley Ballet in Northampton, Massachusetts. She received her BFA in Dance at The Juilliard School, under the direction of Benjamin Harkarvy. Tara has taught at numerous schools in the region, and was a Master Lecturer at the University of the Arts. She served as BalletX’s Artistic Coordinator and Ballet Mistress from 2011 to 2013, and was named Associate Artistic Director in February 2014.
Keelan Whitmore is the Rehearsal Director & Community Liaison for BalletX. He is an award-winning dance artist who has worked internationally as a choreographer and dance educator.
