
Lanie Jackson, from Dallas, Texas, began her pre-professional dance training with the Dallas Ballet Company, under the direction of Judy and Brent Klopfenstein.
With DBCo, she danced principal roles in many classical ballets and originated principal roles in new ballets by choreographers such as Jason Fowler and Silas Farley. She performed internationally with the company, traveling to Austria for the Stars of Tomorrow: Young! Tanzsommer dance festival and to Montréal, Quebec, Canada for the Regional Dance America national festival.
Lanie graduated from The Juilliard School in 2021 under the Artistic Direction of Alicia Graf Mack and Mario Alberto Zambrano. There she performed new works by choreographers such as Gentian Doda, Andrea Miller, James Whiteside, and Matthew Neenan, and participated in residencies with Ohad Naharin of Batsheva Dance Company. She was coached by Francesca Harper and William Forsythe on an excerpt of his master work, In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated for her graduation performance.
She was a company member and faculty at Ballet Virginia, under the direction of Lydia Roberts Coco, where she performed Dwight Rhoden’s Evermore, and principal roles in classical ballets and works by Coco.
This is Lanie’s second season with BalletX.
