
Jonathan Montepara, from Orsogna, graduated from the Balletto di Roma school in Italy. He danced one of the leads of Milena Zullo’s world premiere Coppélia with the Rome Ballet Junior Company, and in 2018 he joined the American Repertory Ballet.
Montepara was featured in many classical and contemporary works. He premiered Kirk Peterson’s Beauty and the Beast, Riccardo de Nigris’s Beyond the Normal, Colby Damon’s Strange Sentience, Ethan Stiefel’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Moving to Bach by Ja’Malik, and Circadia by Caili Quan. He worked with international choreographers and répétiteures such as Trey McIntyre, José M Carreño, Ana Novoa, and Sean Mahoney. In 2020, Montepara performed The Nutcracker Pas de Deux with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra for their Annual Holiday Concert, broadcasted worldwide. Jonathan joined BalletX in 2022, performing works by Justin Peck, Matthew Neenan, Jennifer Archibald, Amy Seiwert, Tiler Peck, Jamar Roberts, and world premieres by Caili Quan, Amy Hall Garner, Stina Quagebeur, Nicola Wills, Natasha Adorlee, and Loughlan Prior.
